Learning Outcome 5&6
I feel that my chosen works sample shows that I did a pretty good job citing my sources in MLA format. I definitely had a few mistakes such as not adding some of the very specific things my citations were more general. Like I didn’t add the version or other contributors, since I only had the printout of the essays so it was definitely more difficult. I also feel like we didn’t spend a lot of time on citations in class so I think I cited to the best of my ability. I definitely had to make many local revisions for my typical errors. When I write I feel that once I start I can stop and everything that is in my brain ends up on the page. This typically means that the grammar is not the best and it is very much a draft. I also tend to be very repetitive. In paper 2 which I used for my chosen work sample in my original drafts, I was extremely repetitive. I used the word technology so many times and it made it sound terrible. I had to go back through my writing and make many edits because I had words that were unnecessary and after removing them the repetitiveness was fixed. I also tend to use words back to back that mean the same thing which makes my sentences sound wordy and make no sense. After going through and making these grammar revisions it improves my paper, but I know exactly what I am looking for since I tend to make these mistakes.
